Simon Says Wednesday Challenge “Anything Goes”

I was inspired by Jennifer McGuire’s recent video Faux Textured Metal Paper and made a bunch of cards over the last couple of weekends, over 20!  It really helped me be prepared for upcoming birthdays, thank you notes and more.  Once I got started I couldn’t stop!  So, here is the first one…

I used Tim Holtz’s Distress Inks in Mermaid Lagoon & Peacock Feathers.  I taped off the edges and blended the two colors and then while the ink was still wet I added Radiant Pearls to it and wiped off the excess.  I embossed it with We R Memory Keepers Woven (1 of 2 in the set) embossing folder.  I also used the Distress Inks on the exterior of the card before I applied the embossed panel but didn’t use Radiant Pearls on that part.  The “happy” die is by Hero Arts.

I started making cards in the 90's and have recently started creating again. It has been exciting to catch up on all the new techniques and tools that are now available! I also enjoy cross-stitching and any creative endeavor. I live in Carmichael, CA which is a suburb of Sacramento.
