Simon Says Monday Challenge “Trio of Colors”

I embossed this with the Darice “Poppy Field” embossing folder.  I then colored the flowers, stems and leaves with Prismacolor markers.  I blended 3 colors to color the poppies.  I wanted a really soft background so I decided to use chalk.  On this particular card I tried various techniques before I finally came up with techniques that would work.  Originally I tried water-color but it was too hard to keep within the lines especially on the smaller flowers or smaller sections.  I tried colored pencils and had similar problems.  I finally decided on markers because I got the best blending and I used a white gel pen when needed to clean up the lines.  I used clear Wink of Stella on the poppies.  If I made the card again I think I would use a darker green next time…
