Simon Says Monday Challenge “Ombre” & World Cardmaking Day

On a rare occasion a card that you design in your head comes out just the way you planned it.  Sometimes I have a certain stamp or technique I want to do but not a whole card and struggle with putting the idea into a complete card.  On this one I knew what technique, stencil and dies I wanted to use and they worked, yippee!  I blended the background with Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Salty Ocean and Chipped Sapphire (ombre).  I used the Simon Says Falling Snow Stencil and embossing paste.  Then I used the Simon Says Village, Stitched Slopes & Hills, and Season’s Greetings dies to cut everything out.  I used foam tape on the front slope to give it more dimension.  I also added water to Radiant Pearls and tapped a paint brush over it to give it some sparkle.  The only thing I would add in the future is some snow on the houses and trees…something else to buy!  🙂

I started making cards in the 90's and have recently started creating again. It has been exciting to catch up on all the new techniques and tools that are now available! I also enjoy cross-stitching and any creative endeavor. I live in Carmichael, CA which is a suburb of Sacramento.
