My First Shaker Card

I have resisted making a shaker card for quite awhile, they have been one of the “in” things in the card world for awhile.  I have watched several videos (thanks to Jennifer McGuire & Kristina Werner) and I know they aren’t hard but they are time consuming.  I needed to make a birthday card for a certain 7 year old this week and decided it was time to finally make one because I know she will enjoy it.  I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Festive Berries for the background.  The heart embossing is by We R Memory Keepers.  I used a Sizzix circle die and the Happy Birthday and Cupcake dies are by Simon Says Stamp.  I used various sequins and hold punched hearts & stars out of glitter paper to fill the shaker.  I am happy with my first shaker 🙂

I started making cards in the 90's and have recently started creating again. It has been exciting to catch up on all the new techniques and tools that are now available! I also enjoy cross-stitching and any creative endeavor. I live in Carmichael, CA which is a suburb of Sacramento.
