Help! I’m buried in new products!

Last week we bought a Sizzix Big Shot (a machine used for embossing and cutting shapes out of paper) along with a couple of embossing folders and dies; I haven’t even taken them out of the box!  Last week I also received my Stampin’ Up monthly Paper Pumpkin kit AND my Simon Says October Card Kit which included a die.  I have only had time to use one stamp from the Stampin’ Up kit (in my Halloween card)!  I am busy finishing up my Halloween cards and want to get them done before I start anything else.  It didn’t help that I am making 44 of them!  I ran out of Multi Medium Matte to glue the mesh down and Tombo adhesive to glue the card pieces together.  So, little process was made on cards this week.  Oh, I take that back…I got to play with a new stamp set!  It is the Simon Says Strong Together set.  I pulled out my Prismacolor Art Markers, that I haven’t used in years, and had some fun coloring about 3 of the images.

Last night I went through all of the markers I have, and found out which ones actually work.  I had a couple of them that leaked that I had in a bag, otherwise they were in good shape except for 2-3 others, that were low on ink.  We bought them at least 12 years ago.  I inventoried the colors and ordered some additional ones to fill in any gaps.  We have about 40 of them and the additional purchase should cover the color spectrum.

I have been watching videos on Copic Markers and I am learning how to actually use my Prismacolor ones.  The Copic markers are more expensive (about $175 for a set of 36 on Amazon) but have replaceable tips and ink.  For now, I will be happy to use my Prismacolor Art Markers but maybe someday in the future I will be adding some Copic markers.

So, I will be finishing up those Halloween cards (the glue came today – along with another die) and will start creating again next weekend…yippee!  So many ideas and new stuff to try, I guess I will have to make some more time!

I started making cards in the 90's and have recently started creating again. It has been exciting to catch up on all the new techniques and tools that are now available! I also enjoy cross-stitching and any creative endeavor. I live in Carmichael, CA which is a suburb of Sacramento.
