Simon Says Wednesday Challenge “Anything Goes” #2

This is my first “spinner” card!  I remembered this carousel punch and thought it would be perfect for a spinner.  This card is still kind of a “work-in-progress” because I need to decide what to do with the inside of the card but it is getting there!  The punch is by Paper Shapers and I have had it for several years.  I punched out the carousel using foil paper and did it from both sides of the paper to get the reverse image.  I used Sizzix circle dies to make the cutouts and a Stampin’ Up embossing folder.

Simon Says Wednesday Challenge “Anything Goes”

I finally made a couple of dog cards for friends that have been asking!  Unfortunately, I mailed one of them before I got a photo!  Anyway, the dog stamp is by Penny Black and was colored with Prismacolor markers.  The paw embossing folder is by Marianne Designs.  I used Crystal Effects to accent the dog’s nose and tag.  I also hand drew the dashes around the dog.

Simon Says Monday Challenge “Rainbow”

I finished up my Easter cards last weekend and just need to get them addressed and ready to go.  I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks and did some blending to create a very light pastel watercolor rainbow effect.  The colors I used were Broken China, Spun Sugar and Squeezed Lemonade.  The embossing folder is by We R Memory.  I also water-colored the stamped image using the same inks.  The stamp image was gold heat embossed with Ranger embossing powder.  I cut the image out with a Sizzix circle die and attached it with foam tape.  I used ribbon to tie the two sides together.

Simon Says Stamp “Anything Goes”

I made this card for my mom a couple of weeks ago.  I purchased this rubber stamp unmounted several years ago at a stamp show, and unfortunately I don’t know who made it.  I stamped the image with a Versamark pad and used Hero Arts white embossing powder.  I then water-colored it.  I am still getting the hang of water-coloring but I am happy with the result…

Adult Coloring Books & National Craft Month

When adult coloring books came out I thought it was a cool idea but I already had a long “to do” list, so I didn’t think I could “waste my time” coloring!  Well, I realized it would be a good way to practice coloring blending and techniques that I use for card making!  I have purchased and received various coloring books as gifts over the last year or two, last weekend I finally got around to coloring.  I had heard it was relaxing and surprisingly it was!  I had a great time and was very pleased with the result.  This was done with Tombow markers which are water based…
