Simon Says Monday Challenge “Monster Mash”

Halloween is almost here and it is time for spooky and scary things!  On this card I used the Darice Basket Weave Embossing Folder for the background.  I masked off a circle for the moon and used Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Chipped Sapphire & Seedless Preserves for the area around the moon and Orange Marmalade and Mustard Seed for the moon.  The bats are a stamp that I am guessing are by Hero Arts (there wasn’t any name on it).  The “Trick or Treat” stamp is by Rubber Soul and I used distress inks around it too.  I added the stitch lines with a fine black marker and attached it with foam tape.  I would have preferred to have the background in black to make it spookier but I was out!  So, it isn’t as scary as it could have been…

Simon Says Monday Challenge “Autumn”

On this card I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Chipped Sapphire & Seedless Preserves for the background.  I masked off the moon and used a circle punch for the shape.  I colored the moon with Mustard Seed & Spiced Marmalade and used Crystal Effects for dimension & shine.  The tree is a punch from EK Success.  I punched it out 3 times and glued them together to give it more depth.  I used the Simon Says Stitched Slopes & Hills dies and colored them with Shabby Shutters & Bundled Sage (they are greener than the picture shows).  I attached the second and third layers with foam tape for dimension.  The “Happy Halloween” and grave stamps are by Stampin’ Up.

Simon Says Wednesday Challenge “Anything Goes!”

I’m trying to get inspired to create some more Halloween cards.  I have looked over all the stamps that I have – and I have a lot – but the majority of them are small and I am not sure what to do with them – that I haven’t done before.  I realized that I have a LOT of Halloween cats and decided to stamp them all (or at least most of them, I found more) and create something and this is what I created.  I used the Simon Says Stamp Wave Stencil with Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmalade for the background.  I then stamped all of the cats in black along with Happy Halloween.  The stamps are by Stampin’ Up, Hero Arts and more (if you want to know where a particular cat came from just let me know).  I put a black backing on them and arranged them on the card applying some with foam tape for dimension.  I then went back and added Ranger Enamel Accents to the words and Crystal Effects to all of the cats.  I also ink blended the background edges of the card in the same inks.
