Simon Says Challenge “Stamp It” #4

I loved these Crazy Cats by Tim Holtz when they came out and couldn’t wait for the mini set to be released.  When it came out with the cats and dogs together as minis I was even happier!  I stamped the cats and colored them with Prismacolor markers.  The “Happy Meowday” is by Simon Says Stamp.  I die cut two rectangle frames and fit them around the cats and cut out the overlapping sections (I made a sample for reference for the future).  I added Wink of Stella to the cats and also Crystal Effects to their eyes.

Simon Says Challenge “Stamp It” #2

I couldn’t make just one card so I kept going and made additional Snoopy cards!  The stamp is by Stampabilities.  I masked it off and used Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Tumbled Glass and Chipped Sapphire.  The circle die is by Sizzix and the embossing folder is by Marianne.  I also added Crystal Effects to Snoopy.

Simon Says Challenge “Stamp It”

My cousin needed a sympathy card for a friend at work who recently lost her dog, so I offered to make one for her.  Who could make someone smile again as well as Snoopy?  The Snoopy stamp is by Stampabilities.  I masked it off and used Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Tumbled Glass and Chipped Sapphire.  I also put some droplets of Radiant Pearls on it and some dots with a white gel pen.  The embossing folder is by Marianne and the circle die cut is by Sizzix.

Simon Says Wednesday Challenge “Anything Goes” #2

I hadn’t planned to make a 4th of July card but I had an idea in my head that needed to get out!  I used the Tim Holtz stencils “Stars” and “Rays” along with his inks in Candied Apple and Chipped Sapphire.  I just masked off the areas and also embossed it with clear embossing powder.  The word “celebrate” is also a Tim Holtz dies.  Happy 4th!

My First Shaker Card

I have resisted making a shaker card for quite awhile, they have been one of the “in” things in the card world for awhile.  I have watched several videos (thanks to Jennifer McGuire & Kristina Werner) and I know they aren’t hard but they are time consuming.  I needed to make a birthday card for a certain 7 year old this week and decided it was time to finally make one because I know she will enjoy it.  I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Festive Berries for the background.  The heart embossing is by We R Memory Keepers.  I used a Sizzix circle die and the Happy Birthday and Cupcake dies are by Simon Says Stamp.  I used various sequins and hold punched hearts & stars out of glitter paper to fill the shaker.  I am happy with my first shaker 🙂

Simon Says Monday Challenge “Emboss It”

Between Beth’s mom passing away and my own mom’s heath issues, I haven’t had much time for making cards but things are getting back to “normal”.  We have a couple of birthdays for family in May and we are celebrating tomorrow so I whipped up a couple of cards.  Luckily, one of the cards has some embossing on it so I can enter this week’s challenge!  I used the Simon Says Happy Birthday w/ the cupcake dies with gold foil paper and used some of the pieces from the cutouts on the background.  I sponged a couple of Stampin’ Up inks for the background.  The frosting on the cupcake was cutout of glitter paper.  I used the Stampin’ Up dots embossing folder for the background of the cupcake.  It isn’t a card that I am crazy about but it is perfect for the person that I am making it for!
